Idaho’s first Energy Neutral home, now under construction, will produce more energy than it demands

An Eagle company is constructing its first “Energy Neutral” home, designed from the ground-up to produce more energy than it consumes.

“This first home will establish that an efficiently built home equipped with renewable technologies will achieve energy neutrality” said Micah Gosney, Executive Director of Energy Neutral.

The idea of using renewable energy to augment residential power has been around for years. However, Energy Neutral is using established methods of energy production – such as solar panels - and combining them with energy-saving construction practices to provide an affordable home that achieves energy neutrality. Our Vision statement

Transform homes, businesses and farms using best in class solar, wind, technology and “grid” energy synergies to virtually eliminate energy bills and become small net power producers where practical while staying reliably connected to the grid.

Energy Neutral was formed by the parent company, Alternate Energy Holdings Inc, whose mission is to address and improve the national energy shortfall by optimizing environmentally friendly power sources.

Energy Neutral will focus on identifying and evaluating residential, business, and farms for specific energy conservation and renewable energy potential. In collaboration with the customer, Energy Neutral will build a strategy, specific to the client, toward energy neutrality to include leveraging state and federal tax incentives. To that end, Energy Neutral will identify and coordinate with the best in class wind, solar, and technology suppliers to put the right products in place for the customer.
